A Very Cyber Monday Outfit

It is Cyber Monday and I am posting this super late!
The short sleeved turtleneck that I have been obsessed lately went one sale! So originally it is only $13 but Target is doing buy one get one 60% off mix match clothes and shoes. You can get this lovely shirt in every color they sell it in as I did or you can get these awesome boots I am wearing in this picture. Or both. Target is also having 15% off site wide (with some restrictions.) And they do free two day shipping. What a time to be alive.

The skirt is one I bought at H&M a week or so ago. But now H&M is doing 35% off and free shipping site wide as well today.

I also paired it with fleece lined tights from Kohl's and they have become my best friend in these cold months.

Until Next Time,

Hailey

Let's Talk Black Friday

Forever Looking like a School Teacher

We are finally getting into Winter weather in Savannah. So I am still very committed to wearing skirts though and so I wear fleece lined tights. It is a really good compromise. Here are the ones I am wearing in this picture.

Also this target turtleneck in burgundy. It is a short sleeved turtleneck which is really hard to find! It is also only $13. Target also does free 2 day shipping. So I ordered this shirt online on Tuesday and got it on Friday, which is amazing!

It is boot season season! These are the boots I wear all winter basically every winter. I have had these particular boots for 4 years now. No issues or damage at all. They hold up really well.

I also paired it with this cardigan. Cardigans have been really helpful here because it is really cold in the morning and terribly hot afternoon. So I own this H&M cardigan is every color.

Until Next Time,
Hailey

Infinity Scarves for Infinity

I will never give up infinity scarves. They are perfect for keep neck warm without the commitment of a huge scarf. I love it.
So here is a quick picture of one of my scarves as Savannah gets colder. It has dogs on it!
And I paired it with my go to lipstick Forever on Matte by Too Faced in the color Lady Balls.

My Beautiful City

About two years ago, I made the best decision to move to Savannah, Georgia. I grew up in a smaller town in Georgia. Savannah was like a breath of fresh air.

Moving to a new place opens a world of opportunity. It is a completely blank slate. A fresh and new start.

A new place means new experiences, new friends, and as a result a new person. You never find out who you are without putting yourself out of your comfort zone. Moving is 100% out of your comfort zone. There will be lonely nights in an unfurnished apartment but there will also be nights where you go to new places with new friends.

Each new city is a new you, because you will learn more about yourself. By going out of your comfort zone, you become more comfortable.

I happened to move to the best place ever. That does not mean I will not move again, the next city could be even better. But right now, I am in love with a city and that changes everything.

A lot of people ask me about why I love Savannah and my favorite places. So here is an explaination and a list!

Savannah as a whole- Savannah is a city filled with history, art, and culture. The city thrives and encourages creativity, we have a large art school here: Savannah College of Art and Design. Often the graduates from SCAD stay in Savannah, which contributes more to our creativity and locally owned bussinesses. And then there is the history of Savannah. Savannah is one of the only places in Georgia where you will find pre-antebellum buildings. Savannah has stepped in and now focuses on the preservation of the historic district, unlike other cities in Georgia. Because of this, walking around Savannah is basically walking back in time and it is a breath of fresh air.

Seriously move somewhere! It is refreshing.

A lot of people me for a guide of must do's in Savannah. So here is the perfect combination of touristy and locals only guide to Savannah in case you ever decide to visit my wonderful city.

Museums

  • Wormsloe- Wormsloe is where that fourth picture I posted above was taken. It is gorgeous colonial ruins but to get there you have to drive down a long road with canopy trees over it. After that drive you hike to the colonial ruins as well as the plantation house, which is worth the hike. This is also where that scene in the last song was filmed where they get stuck in the mud and then hose off at the house, the plantation house at Wormsloe!
  • Sorrel Weed House Museum- I may be a little biased because I work there, but this is the best place ever. It is a historic house museum where they do historic tours during the day and then ghosts tours at night!
  •  Ships of the Maritime Museum- Not everyone's cup of tea, but this is a really cool museum that goes into ship history in Savannah. It also has a gorgeous garden
  • Prohibition Museum- Obviously museums are fun, but this is a super fun museum. It features wax figures that represent 1920s figures! This museums tells you all about the history of the prohibition movement but it has figures and lots of interactive exhibits. My favorite museum in the area besides my own obviously. It also becomes a speakeasy at night.
  • Owen Thomas House- Owens Thomas House is another historic house museum. This one is older though and actually had indoor plumbing, woah! It features slave quarters and a garden as well as the house itself.
Places to Eat/Get Coffee Besides Chick-Fil-A (But if you have never had chick-fil-a also go there)

  • Green Truck Pub- Green Truck Pub is a little bit outside the historic district but it has the best burgers you will ever eat, as voted every year. It is also locally owned.
  •  Funky Brunch Cafe- The best place for Brunch in all of Savannah. You get to make your own pancakes on griddles that are a part of the table.
  • Foxy Loxy- Foxy Loxy is a coffee shop that also sells alcohol and it is also open really late. They do live music as well. They courtyard is also very gorgeous and has string lights, it is a really good vibe.
  • Congress Street Social Club- A minute walk from City Market and also has amazing burgers.
  • Betty Bombers-  Betty Bombers is an American style restaurant right by Forsyth park. It is retro themed and your servers dress as pinups which is awesome.
  • Vinnie Van GoGo- Amazing pizza place in City Market, also where this wonderful viral video of a woman standing up for herself took place.
  • Bella Napoli- A small Italian restaurant with this best Italian food I have ever had, and I have been to Italy (I really like American Italian food).
Places to Shop

  • Civvies- A vintage fashion threat store in direct downtown Savannah.
  • House of Strut- Another Vintage shop in Savannah.
  • Tanger Outlets! Located a little outside Savannah, this is a really popular outlet mall.
Places to Visit
Obviously when in Savannah you need to visit River Street, there are multiple candy shops which is heaven. Broughton Street is the main street for shopping and it is always fun to just wander around and see where you stumble into.

  • Chippewa Square- This is where the scene in Forest Gump was filmed, the one where he says life is like a box of chocolates.
  • City Market- This is the central spot for Savannah with lots of restaurants and shops. It is also really fun at night because they have live music.
  • Forsyth Park- A lovely park located in the historic district. The walk there from Downtown is also stunning.
  • Starland District- The Starland District is more of a locals place, but it is basically our hardcore art district. Savannah is in entirety is an art district but this is more than that. They have a lot of gallerys, coffee shops, restaurants that have amazing vibes, and shops.
So this is my official list! I will update this as I find more awesome places.

Until next time,

Hailey

Harry Potter Gift Guides

It is November! Which means it is Christmas. So time for some gift guides. October 31st was a couple of days ago and an important date in Harry Potter, as his parents passed away on Halloween and then Wormtail's reveal on Halloween. We also have the new Fantastic Beast movie coming out next week. Now seems a good as time as ever then to do a Harry Potter gift guide!

1 (individual prefect badges also in the shop) 2, 3, 4

So the first set of pins are all from Sunset Road Co. I have posted about this etsy shop before on my blog because I really love them. I have bought a lot of pins in my life, but these are the best pins I have ever bought in my life. My favorites are pictured above. There are prefect pins in all the houses and also a collection on the animals in Harry Potter! It is wonderful.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Pins are the best ways to add a little bit of flair and magic to your outfits. A Harry Potter pin is the best way to brighten your mood, speaking from experience. These are my favorites of those.

1, 2, 3
I have recently developed an obsession with tee shirts to pair with skirts. Here are some of my favorites.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Mugs are my favorite thing ever! It is the best gift to get someone because you know they will use it. You can never have too many mugs. Step aside socks, mugs are taking over. Here are my absolute favorites that any Harry Potter fans are sure to love.

Hope this helped you to shop for that super Harry Potter fan in your life.

Until next time,
Hailey

Don't Lose the Magic

It is finally fall weather in Savannah. Only problem is that it is sweater weather in the morning and then in the afternoon it is unbearably hot. So my solution is short sleeve dresses, tights, and a cardigan. That way when it gets terrible, I can take that cardigan off. It works well.

This cardigan from chicwish is perfect for that. It is beautifully made. It is comfortable and cozy. They do not sell it in a cardigan version anymore, but here is a sweater version chicwish still sells. Also here are some similar versions. 1. 2.  3.

I also like to add fun pins to my outfits whenever I am having a bad day. I have a lot of pins, but this one is my absolute favorite. It has the best quality of any pin I have ever ever bought. I am a proud Hufflepuff and my pin is able to show that off. But Sunset Road Co. has all the houses for you to have your house pride! Also there are multiple other Harry Potter pins at Sunset Road Co. and I will be styling one later this week as well! I 100% recommend these pins, they are the best pins ever. As a pin fanatic, this is the best shop for pins.

Trick or Treat Yo Self

Since breaking my arm, I have not been able to craft recently. For some reason though I have been dying to craft, which is really weird because I never felt the need to before. The only crafting I am able to do is making fun tee shirts because it is really simple and just requires ironing on letters. Here is an example of one I made recently for Halloween!

And here is the link to the tutorial I used to learn how to do it. It includes the letters that are best to use and all, which are on amazon prime!

Casual Looks with Red Shoes

This is one of my favorite looks in a while because I looked so cute that someone asked me how I was liking Sophomore year at the local high school. That is always a great way to measure how good an outfit is- if you get mistaken for a high school-er.
They do not sell this shirt anymore unfortunately. I got it three or four years ago at Forever21. It is pussy bow style, before Melania took it and made me hate it. I am trying to go back to that simpler time and not associating it with her. Also this is not really a pussy bow style shirt, it is a shirt with a bow in the back that I have always just worn backwards. Since they do not sell it anymore here are some similar ones:

I also paired this look with a circle skirt because that is all I wear in Georgia heat now.
And then of course with my favorite pair of shoes. I have written about them a ton, they're super comfy and I like in them. Also only $10 on amazon with prime. They're the best. Wearing red shoes with the most boring outfit ever just makes people think you tried. It is great.

Until Next Time,

Hailey

Send Me Dog Pics

I got this tee shirt at Forever 21 back in the Spring, but they had stopped selling it. So this is a delayed post about how it is back on their website for only $8. Also it is the softest shirt ever. I am currently in a tee shirt and circle skirt phase and that shows in this picture. Best and easiest combination ever. Also only wear circle skirts with tights otherwise they are way too short.

Modcloth Sale Favorites

I have been eyeing the Collectif x MC collaboration for months and my favorite pineapple pieces have gone on sale! You can also never go wrong with a gingham skirt as well. I usually prefer black gingham, but according to the reviews this navy gingham skirt is darker than the pictures so it gives a nice in between of navy and black. And then the adventurously astir skirt. Modcloth Squad members have posted how they styled these two skirts and it was amazing!

Does Mustard Yellow Match Red Lipstick? Maybe.

This mustard yellow shirt is perfect for a casual running errands outfits, which is exactly what I did in it! I paired them with my favorite pin-up style capris from Hell Bunny. Hell Bunny makes amazing capris. The ones I am wearing, Tina Style, have a hidden zipper in the backs so they fit very flatteringly and then a nice slit behind the knee so also very easy to move in. I have also had these for two years and no tears or anything. Buy all the Hell Bunny clothes, they’re amazing.

The First of Many Polka Dot Outfits this Summer

I recently have taken a break from blogging, as you may have noticed. Between my job getting hit by a car and finishing up the semester, I have not been feeling like a fashion blogger lately. I actually have noticed, with my year and a half of blogging, that I really struggle with blogging. Keeping up with it, generally. But also blogging is always about showing the world your best side. Before I blogged, I would dress up all time. I was an outfit repeater no biggie. But with blogging, you want your best outfits. You have to plan outfits around when you can take pictures. Blogging committed-ly is something that I will always admire others for. But it is not for me. I am first and foremost a historian. I am fashionable, that does not make me a fashion blogger. I love dressing up and will continue to share my outfits here. But I am going to stop trying to make a goal of blogging once a week and failing miserably. I am not a fashion blogging who will not have lipstick on her teeth in every single shot, despite never having it on her teeth in real life. My hang ties on dresses show.

Current Faves

So in the mean time between blog posts I have decided to post my current favorite things. Clothes, Books, and everything I am obsessed with this week.

I Believe in Red

It's is still February! I love February! Valentines Day! President's Day! And Super Museum Sunday- which is something Savannah does where all Museums are free, aka the best day ever. It is just such a happy month. And it was beautiful outside so I had to put on my tulle skirt and heels.

Everything was Red- Valentines Guide

Okay so Valentines Day is coming soon! I love all holidays, so each time I always say it is my favorite holiday. So Valentines Day is my favorite holiday! I mean you wear red and pink with flowers and celebrate love and being happy, you cannot hate it!
So in case you have fancy plans I have created this guide of cute fancy dresses or even fun casual clothes with hearts on it.

Trying out this whole pants thing...

I am always taking very long breaks from blogging for whatever reason. This past month I actually started working two jobs and still in school and then gained 10 lbs because my job is next to KFC. Apparently KFC on the reg makes you gain weight, I am completely shocked. So just haven't  been feeling cute enough to blog/ too busy to blog. Which is where the pants come in.
