A Summer Full of Gingham

I have not actually managed to properly blog in so long, with finals and all. But I have finally been able to leave the house and go downtown. It is very nice to be able to dress up and hang out and go to some awesome brunch places.

I plan to spend most of this summer focusing on traveling and my school work. So blogging will be few and far between. But in the fall I plan to get a tripod and focus more on blogging. But this summer blogging will be on the go! I am living in gingham this summer. I secretly hate it because like all my outfits look the exact same. But if looking like a picnic blanket isnt a summer look, I do not know what is. I get most of my latest clothes from New York & Company. Because I am trying to budget and they have expensive clothes that they put on sale a lot. NY&C makes clothes that make me feel like a successful business owner instead of a waitress struggling in college. But the dress is currently on sale! And then on top of the NY&C sends coupons in emails and so you can get even more of a discount. Which is awesome and you don't even have to shop all online. It is the best store ever basically. Especially the Eva Mendes Collection. So check it out, it will change your life. Worn with this remarkable dress is my standard Kat Von D lipstick and very rare straightened hair.

Star Wars and Brooches: Two of the Best Things Ever

It is officially May 4th aka May the Fourth Be With you. So it is time to discuss a series that changed me as a person: Star Wars. I watched it for the first time ever 2 years ago with some of my favorite people in the whole world. Since then, I went on to read all of Carrie Fisher's books and she is just an absolute gem. She inspires me a lot. So star wars is something that just means a lot to me. So I like wearing star wars themed outfits. I am not a person that wears a lot of color so it is usually some darth vader purse. But for brooches I make an exception.
But on to more cool star wars clothes. Usually you can actually find cool nerdy outfits at Hot Topic, which is lame as hell. But they carry Her Universe which is cheaply made for the price, so watch out for sales. But think geek carries lounge fly, which has cute Star Wars purses. You can buy it off the Lounge Fly website, but thinkgeek puts out a lot of coupons. Irregular choice also has the MOST amazing Star Wars shoes, but they are a very pretty penny. So either drop 200$ on shoes, which no judgement if you got it do it! Or obsessively check eBay.

Unique Vintage also has a good Galactic Glam collection as well. This shirt is my my favorite.

And then this awesome Take Your Heart Shirt
It is an awesome Princess Leia quote to live by.

Well hopefully that helps you dress like a total nerd.

Spectacular Puns

Basic Shirt, Skirt, Lovely Brooch, Similar Shoes

Okay so I haven't posted in a while. I have really been into school lately and not feeling like dressing nice. I keep getting attacked by dogs in my community so I have learned no nice clothes because they will get ruined and then for school it is way too early and way too much walking to dress nice. Also we are in that weird weather stage in Georgia where it could be 70 degrees out or 50 and the only way to know for sure it to go outside. I am in no way ready for Summer. It takes me a while to switch over seasons and so maybe by June I will stop wearing stockings everyday.

But this was my simple rolled out of bed late for class outfit yesterday and it was kind of cute so here it is. I have a growing collection of pins and brooches. It is the only accessory I like besides pearl earrings and it adds a nice pop of color to my other monochrome outfit. I will featuring my brooches more now because summer calls for small amounts of color according to my mom. I got this particular brooch from an Esty shop named Jesiii. She features a lot of wonderful colorful artwork and brooches, so you should definitely check her out.

I plan to blog more later on in the week as school winds down so stay tuned for that!

Until next time,
Hailey

Attempts at Big Hair

Okay so I have been talking about trying vintage hairstyles forever. My hair is significally shorter than it was last year. I use to be able to do really simple styles like milk braids or sock buns, but alas no more. So I decided to try a beehive. It was a frizzy disaster with no poof. No one had any idea what it was supposed to be. I am hair and a lot of makeup inept.
So I will continue to work on it. But in the meantime I will continue to serve up looks.
Also I decided to try to wear a hair scarf for this first time. I see a lot of bloggers that I keep up with wear them but I never knew where to buy them. I like darker colors but if you are look for something lighter, Doll Me Up, has a bunch of cute ones. If not etsy has everything you can possibly dream of in your life. But I have to figure out how to actually wear it so stay tuned while I improve.
It is starting to get warmer in Georgia, which is the complete and total worst. So sleeveless dresses and nude stockings because I am not ready to give up stockings just yet.

Until next time,
